The Bath Today
Starting from May 23, 2023, the saunas and steam rooms at the Gellért Baths will be open for visitors from 10 am to 6 pm. The wave pool will be temporarily closed beginning from April 22, 2023.
Furthermore, starting from April 24, 2023, the outdoor Finnish sauna and the plunge pool will be temporarily closed. These closures are due to technical reasons and necessary maintenance.

Tips and Tricks
- Considering the spa's lack of parking facilities, it is strongly recommended opting for public transport. Fortunately, the spa enjoys a convenient proximity to the city center, a mere 15 minutes away via public transportation. If you insist on driving, the closest car park can be found at 10 Kemenes Street. However, It must be emphasized that the spa offers discounted parking prices if you present your parking ticket upon entry.
- At Gellert Spa, untrained infants, even if they are wearing swimming nappies, are not permitted to enter the pools. This rule primarily targets children under the age of 3. Nonetheless, babies and toddlers can accompany their families to the Spa; however, they must remain outside the pool area under adult supervision.
- Children over 14 are welcome to the Spa, but for kids under 14 years of age the pools are not recommended. Should the parents decide to visit Gellert Spa despite this, families may arrive with children at their own responsibility.
- There are hairdryers in Gellert Spa by the showers (and not in the cabins), that is you can use the public hair drying equipment. Of course, you are allowed to use your own, if you wish to use some special hairdryer, hair straightener etc to re-do your hair. (Please note that only two-pole European style plug-ins will fit.)
- The thermal, hot water supply to Gellert Spa comes from Gellert Hill. The hot spring water contains calcium, hydrogen-carbonate, magnesium, sulphate-chloride, and also sodium and with a significant content of fluoride ions. It is therefore not advisable to wear jewellery, which can be discoloured by mineral-rich water.
